Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

General Responsibility

  • Promote and demonstrate a safety mind-set in all aspects of Facilities work
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks in both electrical and mechanical fields as assigned by the Facilities Engineer.
  • Carry out electrical plant installations & services as required.
  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of relevant plant processes for Facilities plant and equipment.
  • Analyse malfunctioning plant & equipment, recommend corrective action and make repairs or modifications as necessary.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the Building Management System
  • Co-ordinate teams in maintenance, repair & installation work as required.
  • Flexibly support and interface with other disciplines to achieve Facility objectives.
  • Carry out PAT testing duties as required.
  • Contribute to the generation and improvement of Facility work processes.
  • Ensure all relevant job cards and other documentation are completed and submitted promptly.
  • Support the Facilities Engineer in the supervision and co-ordination of third-party contractors.
  • Provide on-call cover as part of a Facilities Team roster.
  • Support and participate in the introduction, maintenance and utilisation of a Computer Aided Facilities Management system.
  • Ad-hoc tasks assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Deputise for the Facilities Engineer as required.

 Candidate Requirements

  • A relevant electrical trade qualification.
  • Two years’ post qualification experience is desirable, ideally working within a facilities maintenance environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Experience in HVAC, 10kV distribution systems, UPS systems, elevators and fire detection/ protection systems is desirable.
  • Experience with Building Management System operations is desirable.
  • Have excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Have good communication and assertiveness skills.
  • Proven experience working to deadlines.
  • Demonstrates an excellent safety behaviour and attitude.
  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude and behaviour in support of safe working practices and maintenance standards.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude, and very customer service oriented.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon.
  • PPE is provided by AAG, and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
