  • Promote and demonstrate a safety mind-set in all aspects of Facilities work.
  • Lead, manage and oversee capex projects for the complete project life cycle, including identifying, initiating and developing plant projects, completing cost benefit reports and feasibility studies, managing tenders, preparation of project plans, stakeholder coordination and management, and execution of projects to successful and cost effective conclusions.
  • Oversee service provider contracts such as cleaning and landscaping contracts to ensure required standards are consistently achieved.
  • Support the EPA and hazardous waste management processes as required.
  • Direct the Facilities Waste Technicians in support of the hazardous waste management process in accordance with EPA regulations.
  • Co-ordinate and schedule the mandatory inspections and preventative maintenance program for mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and guide Facilities Technicians and external service providers in the execution of the preventative maintenance program and reactive work requests, including task assignment.
  • Generate and modify Facility work processes to meet changing business and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure relevant job cards and other documentation are completed and stored as appropriate.
  • Ensure service inspections are completed and documented in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Co-ordinate contractors that attend site and ensure all the relevant documentation is in place prior to the work commencing.
  • Review and approve sub-contractor invoices and verify works done.
  • Provide on-call cover as part of a Facilities Team roster.
  • Support and participate in the introduction, maintenance and utilisation of a Computer Aided Facilities Management system.
  • Ad-hoc tasks assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Deputise for the Facilities Manger as required.

Experience/Qualifications Requirements

  • A relevant degree – Mechanical / Electrical / Civil or Building Services with at least two years’ post qualification experience, ideally working within a facilities maintenance environment.
  • A qualified craftsperson with at least five years relevant experience and proven project management ability may also be considered.
  • Have experience in the effective planning and organisation required to maintain a facility for Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Have the skills and experience required for the creation and control of Budgets
  • Experience in HVAC, 10kV distribution systems, UPS systems, elevators and fire detection/ protection systems is desirable.
  • Experience with Building Management System operations.
  • Experience in negotiating, motivating, influencing internal and external teams required to perform their own duties in achieving company goals.
  • Be proficient in CAD drawing software.
  • Have excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Have excellent communication and assertiveness skills.
  • Proven experience working to deadlines.
  • Demonstrates an excellent safety behaviour and attitude.
  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude and behaviour in support of safe working practices and maintenance standards.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude, and very customer service oriented.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon and possibly offsite providing AOG support.
  • PPE is provided by AAG and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
