General Responsibility

Responsible and accountable for the control of all tools used within the facility, ensure all tooling is always available and serviceable, planning and organising in line with aircraft maintenance requirements.

Essential Job Function

  • Open POL and Tool cages, ensure TCMAX running.
  • Monitor the tool cage and ensure inventory check of tool cage is completed.
  • To perform an independent 100% toolbox check of all toolboxes and all items that are removed and returned to the tool cage.
  • To perform a daily spot check of 10 items in the tool cage to ensure 100% content is correct. • A 100% tool accountability check is to be carried out prior to start work at shift change and at the end of shift.
  • Ensure all tools are issued in accordance with current policy and procedures.
  • Any reports U/S tooling should be removed, logged, and replaced.
  • All new or replacements tools must be registered and logged.
  • Ensure all tools correlate to their matching toolbox.
  • Run TC Max tool report for all aircraft in work.
  • Ensure all tooling is maintained tidy and cleaned (corrosion).
  • Ensure all hired tools are collected.
  • Check and process order of Security tasks – when required
  • Check in use POL, dispose of any items whose shelf-life will expire before end of the following month.
  • Carry out shelf life checks of part used cupboards and ensure that any materials out of shelf life are disposed of in an appropriate manner and dispose of any that will expire before the end of the month.
  • Check label ID on POL products
  • Download POL temp and humidity data and ensure forms are archived.
  • Check spill kits, replenish as required.
  • Check stocks of engine oil, order 5 cases if stock below 3.
  • At end of day(18.30hrs) run TCMAX tool report for all a/c in work Health and Safety
  • Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities including;
  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work. Including Management responsibilities as required by H&S Manual.
  • Be aware of aviation safety responsibilities with regards to the AAGDS Safety Policy. Including Management responsibilities as required by the Safety Management Manual
  • Be aware of aviation security responsibilities with regards to the AAGDS Security Policy.

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Use of IT packages including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience of working in a tool stores environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • High level of attention to detail and capable of producing a consistent standard whilst performing a repetitive function.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Desirable skills

  • Previous experience in an aviation environment and/or tool store environment.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air Certificate (If expired, by not by more than 30 days).

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon and possibly offsite providing AOG support.
  • PPE is provided by AAG and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
