Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
Essential Job Function
- Leadership of the Tooling and Equipment Department including Tool Store, POU Tooling, GSE Store, and associated Staff, ensuring adherence to all processes and procedures ref SPM, EPM & MOE.
- Support the calibration schedule and administration ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Ensure Tooling Department compliance with all Aviation Regulations.
- Ensure tooling and equipment is available to meet the needs of the Production Department.
- Ensure all aircraft tooling is entered into the ERP database in association with the planning department.
- Cost control in all elements of tooling and equipment, including budget management.
- Ensure all Staff are trained on the safety aspects associated with their work.
- Ensure that all Staff always comply with H&S and Aviation regulation.
- Management of contractors providing on site services, including agreeing, and implementing SLAs.
- Evaluate and implement Department training requirements.
- Be a leader in continuous improvement / business excellence.
- Ensure all routine and special tooling is available for aircraft inputs.
- Responsible for tool replacement, including costing and purchase.
- Be the main point of contact for regulatory audits in the Tooling Department.
- Ensure a high standard of quality, housekeeping, H&S, and tool care is always maintained.
- Maintain and promote a strong working relationship with customer representatives, tooling and equipment vendors and support departments.
- Management of all Staff including training, development, and performance appraisals.
- Any other duties as it relates to Tooling & Equipment as outlined by your manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Supervisory Management qualification.
- Relevant experience in Tooling & Equipment Management.
- Knowledge of all Health & Safety requirements including statutory maintenance compliance.
- Good technical and mechanical understanding.
- Proven experience in team development.
- Strong project management, influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in budget and commercial management.
- Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Be a good team player, self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proven leader in 5S / Lean, continuous improvement and change management.
Typical Working Conditions
- Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
- Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon and possibly offsite providing AOG support.
- PPE is provided by AAG, and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
- Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
