AAG have an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated career focused and ambitious Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician seeking a role in a challenging, fast-paced and rewarding environment. Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Essential Job Function

  • Provide Production with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the NDT area, daily, weekly and monthly checks of NDT equipment.
  • Perform NDT tasks in accordance with manufacturer’s procedures and instructions.
  • Further develop experience and knowledge in all 6 NDT methods and attain the required certification in all 6 NDT methods.
  • Continuous training and development in the area of NDT.
  • Remain current with annual vision test, 145 required training and annual assessments.
  • Manage and update logbooks with hours and methods and updating a record of currency as industry and appropriate regulations require, EN4179.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement ideas and projects within NDT.
  • Comply with current H&S and Quality policy and procedures.
  • Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the NDT Manager.

Candidate Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years post Authorisation experience in EASA 145 approved MRO NDT.
  • Have a minimum of 2 NDT Methods Authorised per EN4179.
  • Have demonstrated continuity in the test methods, Log of hours per method, Certificates from an Irish NDT Board approved school, ISA, SWS or AIT, Vision Certificate to include vision acuity and colour perception, Annual assessments approved by the Responsible NDT Level 3 as per EN4179:2021 Annex B, B.2.6.
  • Have an aptitude and willingness to develop a knowledge and skill base on a variety of NDT related equipment, procedures, methods and techniques.
  • Be able to work independently and have good initiative.
  • Be an effective communicator within the team.
  • Exhibit a high degree of administrative, planning & co-ordination skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • You will be required to travel for Company business purposes from time to time.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon.
  • PPE is provided by AAG, and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
