Atlantic Aviation Group are looking for an exceptional and experienced MRO Production Manager to join our team and make a significant contribution to the organisation in this exciting period of growth, we seek people who share our beliefs and values to build a successful and sustainable business together.
The Production Manager is accountable for the provision of a high-quality MRO service including on-time project delivery, high standards of aircraft air-worthiness in accordance with company MOE, customer satisfaction, production team development and motivation. The qualities of the successful candidate include a proactive leadership style, an ability to oversee multiple projects from a budget scope and schedule perspective and a full working knowledge of aircraft maintenance and technical service facilities that support A to D checks. A background in operational excellence and lean management will be advantageous as enablers for continuous improvements in cost focus and increased value added activities.
General Responsibility:
- Lead the production team in the delivery of a high-quality aircraft maintenance service (B737 NG & CL, B757 & B767) for multiple customers. This includes base maintenance, line maintenance and MRO back shops.
- Lead, organise, measure and control the performance of the production team in support of company goals and objectives in a healthy challenging environment.
- Support the senior leadership team in devising and implementing techniques to drive change throughout the business.
- Leads the production team, though appropriate AAG behaviours and sets expectations for others.
- Supports and develops the operational systems, develops people and tools.
Key Requirements
- Ensures all aircraft and component maintenance contracted by customers is completed and certified in accordance with clear work orders or signed contract.
- Ensures that company procedures and quality standards are complied with when performing maintenance.
- Ensures the competence of all personnel engaged in base maintenance, line maintenance and workshops by establishing a programme of training, qualification and competence using internal and external sources, OJT instruction/evaluation and examination/testing in conjunction with our training department.
- Responsible for establishing a programme of training and continuation training
- Co-ordinates and follows through on any corrective & preventive actions required, as appropriate to the manager’s responsibilities, resulting from internal audits undertaken.
- Ensures that the quality, productivity, efficiency, management and administration of the Base and Line Maintenance activity is to a standard acceptable to the organisation and aims for continuous improvement of this system.
- Ensures that the safety procedures and practices outlined in company manuals and industry standards are adhered to by all production staff at all times.
- Ensures that the statutory and other legal requirements in respect of mandatory reporting, hazard reporting and accident/incident reporting are complied with.
- Responsible for preparing a Maintenance Man-hour Plan and ensuring the availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify the work being performed including the necessary resources to support occasional line maintenance activities.
- Responsible for supporting the ongoing recruitment and assessment of competent contract personnel to supplement production labour when required.
- Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, security and correct usage of the company premises, plant, tools and its equipment, taking particular care relative to health and safety within the working environment.
- Ensures that procedures and quality standards and additional supplements specific to Line maintenance are complied with when performing maintenance.
- Responsible for any corrective and preventive actions required, as appropriate to the production manager’s responsibilities, resulting from audits undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the company MOE.
- Ensuring the availability of Line maintenance facilities and a working environment appropriate to the planned work including hangars, office accommodation and storage.
- Ensuring the competence of all personnel engaged in workshop maintenance by establishing a programme of training, qualification and competence using internal and external sources, OJT instruction/evaluation and examination/testing.
- Ensures the availability of facilities and a working environment appropriate to the planned work including workshops, office accommodation and storage. Has oversight of tooling and test equipment calibration schedule.
- Commercials – Control and monitoring of production parameters to ensure commercial objectives are met.
Required Skills, Talent, Experience and Qualifications
- Ideally a qualified B1 or B2 aircraft engineer during their career
- Recognised management qualification & several years’ management experience
- Recognised qualifications and experience in continuous improvement, lean or operational excellence
- Ability to demonstrate complex problem solving techniques
- Must have excellent organisational, analytical and decision making skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, presentation skills, strong work ethic, and self-motivated
