Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

General Responsibility

AAG is currently looking for a Legal and Contracts Manager. This is a permanent role, reporting to the Group’s CCO, and the person will have primary responsibility for the management, execution and administration of MRO service agreements and associated transaction documents. The role advises the senior leadership team and stakeholders on commercial transactions as well as on corporate legal/company secretarial matters.

Essential Job Function

  • Structuring, drafting, and supporting commercial team in the negotiation of aircraft maintenance agreements and related transaction documents (GTAs, aircraft storage agreements, other).
  • Supporting Sales/Commercial in project managing transactions through various phases from RFP stage through to contract signature and closing.
  • Participating in the negotiation and project management of a range of aviation services contracts (GTAs, Ground Handling Agreements, other TBC) to ensure timely contract turnarounds.
  • Managing document execution/closing and any relevant conditions precedent.
  • Ensuring documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with approved standards and guidelines.
  • Manage the execution and administration of MRO service agreements and associated transaction documents.
  • Preparation of reports to provide SLT with relevant and up to date contract information
  • Monitor and manage airframe MRO contracts and aviation service agreements as well as track critical events to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the integrity of all relevant contract information in AAGs ERP/IFS system to ensure contractual data is accurately recorded and available company wide.
  • Liaise with other internal departments to ensure proper and timely execution of aviation service agreements.
  • Work with other internal functions, AAG external legal counsel, Aviation Authorities and third parties as required.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of external legal counsel.
  • Advise company and its business units regarding compliance and regulatory matters and other corporate legal matters (excluding litigation).

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a legal/contracts environment in the aviation sector
  • Experience in drafting and or reviewing aviation contracts and legal documents
  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification (with licence to practice in IRE/UK)

  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon and possibly offsite providing AOG support.
  • PPE is provided by AAG and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
