Atlantic Aviation Group is now recruiting a Part 21 Design Team Leader to join its Design Services team in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, enthusiastic and experienced individual to join a dynamic and growing company in a great industry.

AAG is based in Shannon, Co. Clare.

General Responsibility:

The Part 21 Design Team Leader will lead, develop, and grow the Design Services team, in adherence to the Atlantic Aviation Group Part 21J DOH and Procedures Manual. The successful candidate will also play an essential role in the progressing Atlantic Aviation Group’s Part 21G POA approval application.

Essential Job Function:

  • Part 21J, Design Services
    • Create a sustainable development programme for suitably qualified AAG staff to progress into Design Organisation roles.
    • Assist with Design Engineer recruitment and further development, up to CVE level.
    • Manage the output of Design Office, to include development of relevant metrics and system for measurement and monitoring of output.
    • Manage the quality and on-time delivery of Design Service projects.
    • Resolve engineering problems associated with aircraft cabin interior and/or avionics systems designs.
    • Fulfil CVE and/or Design Engineer role with respect to applicable technical disciplines.

    Part 21G, POA Development

    • Develop a project plan for the attainment of Part 21G POA ensuring all required stakeholders input is sought and considered.
    • Successfully manage the implementation of the project plan to include liaising with the IAA and other stakeholders and the development of the company exposition and associated manuals and forms.
    • Assist AAG management with business planning and business development for the sustainable growth of the AAG Production Organisation.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon and possibly offsite providing technical support
  • PPE is provided by Atlantic Aviation Group and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and overtime, may be required
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferably aviation related, or equivalent engineering qualification such as EASA Part 66 Basic Licence
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Design Engineer role within Part 21J framework
  • Knowledge of the Aviation Regulations, in particular EASA Part 21 and CS25
  • Project Management experience
  • Proven Leadership experience
