Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Essential Job Function

  • Provide Production and external customers with an Engineering service.
  • Design repairs and modifications and advise Production with defect rectification as required.
  • Attain Structures and Systems Engineering approval as per AAG Authorisation system.
  • Raise and co-ordinate approvals for internally generated Engineering Orders to cover repairs and modifications.
  • Liaise with manufacturers, vendors, customers, and authorities as appropriate.
  • Evaluate and advise on service bulletins and other in-service publications.
  • Support other departments with regards to engineering issues as required.
  • Lead and contribute to Planning & Engineering projects as assigned.
  • Travel on Company business and working away from base on assignments will be required to fulfil the duties and obligations of the role.
  • Deputise for the Engineering Leader as required.
  • Be cognizant of all customer communication to the Engineering Department for anomalies or inaccuracies in particular customer work orders and work instructions.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date information is presented at the daily Production meetings.
  • Assist in the training of new employees and the ongoing development of the team.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and supports Lean initiatives within the Engineering department and the Engineering process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives as required and outlined by the Planning & Engineering Manager.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Engineering Leader and/or Planning and Engineering Manager.

Candidate Requirements

  • Have an Engineering Degree with a minimum of two years’ experience in an Engineering environment or hold an EASA Part 66 Cat-B1/B2 or C Aircraft Maintenance Licence with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Have knowledge of airworthiness requirements and certification specification.
  • Strong IT skills including AutoCAD and Solid Works.
  • Very customer focused both internal and external & good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Robust proven problem-solving skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Be a team player, self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrates proactivity and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good sense of responsibility and initiative, experiences in project management welcomed.
  • An energetic, dedicated approach combined with excellent organisation skills and a commitment to deadlines, targets, and high work standards.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • A flexible working schedule will be required to support this role.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Must satisfy and maintain the required medical standard.
  • Work is performed at the AAG Hangar in Shannon.
  • PPE is provided by AAG, and its use is mandatory in the performance of your work.
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements.
